here’s her bio

Diane Concepcion, had always been drawn to mosaics as an art form, dabbling in her limited spare time. Once she retired in 2012, she began attending mosaic classes at the Union Square Art Cooperative in NYC to fine tune her skills in this ancient art.

When she moved to Florida in 2013, Diane set up a studio at the Fish House in Port Salerno and began doing mosaics full time. Over time she grew to know and take workshops with some the most highly regarded mosaic artists in the US and international community. She has studied with Mireille Swinnen of Belgium, Martin Cheek of England and attended the Institute of Mosaic Arts in Berkley, California.

Diane went on to open several studios in Martin and Saint Lucie counties, giving mosaic classes, doing public art installations and private commissions.

Diane loves to create garden art (stepping stones, flower pots, gazing balls), functional art (house numbers, table tops) but to sooth her artistic soul, it’s usually a pelican. Hence the name of her studio: Pelican Central Mosaic Arts. Diane is co-owner of 2 nd Street Art in Fort Pierce, a gallery that exhibits local art and teaches mosaics in the classroom space.
